Martha Stewart Partners with Subway to Make Vegan Meatball Subs! - One Green Planet

In early January, 2020, Subway Canada has announced the exclusive launch of the Beyond Meatball subs in a partnership with Martha Stewart. Available across the country, the sub features Beyond Meat meatballs in a full sandwich.

According to Yahoo! Finance, the sandwich has parmesan, mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheeses on a toasted bun. In a video announcing the sandwich, Martha Stewart  shares plant-care tips for raising Beyond Meatballs of your own.

Ethan Brown, Beyond Meat CEO and Founder said of the partnership with Stewart, “We are proud to expand the Beyond Meatball to thousands of Subway® locations across Canada , introducing the delicious taste and benefits of Beyond Meat to a widening consumer base. Canada is a progressive market and we’ve seen strong engagement from consumers there. Through our partnership with Subway®, we look forward to offering delicious, options that will excite new and existing fans.”

Subway Canada Senior Marketing Director Cristina Wells said of the new sandwich, “Martha is the perfect partner to announce the nationwide launch of the Beyond Meatball Marinara Sub in Canada. Martha’s green thumb and culinary prowess made her a natural fit to speak to the unbelievable cultivation and care that goes into creating the Beyond Meatball™.”

Martha Stewart echoed the others by saying, “Subway® had me at ‘an exciting new plant-based protein choice,’ because that’s perfect for my lifestyle.The new Beyond Meatball subs really are delicious – and you could say I’m an expert when it comes to good taste.”

Subway customers can enjoy the meatballs as part of the Beyond Meatball Marinara Sub, or create their own sandwich using them as an ingredient. Subway is just one of many companies responding to plant-based demand with a new meat-free options. Nestle recently announced it would be making plant-based pizza and lasagna. The Impossible Burger is now available at places like Red Robin and Burger King. Domino’s is bringing a vegan pizza to the UK.
